ABT Chapter 0046 The First Batch of Employees

The first impression the newcomer gave to Li Fanyu was that of a steady person.

After chatting for more than ten minutes, Li Fanyu thought of him as a meticulous person.

A person with a story, when asked about his experiences, he briefly mentioned his ten years in the army, which led Li Fanyu to add another label to him.

But overall, Li Fanyu was very satisfied with him.

Li Fanyu had met many people before, but this person gave him a reliable feeling on intuition.

The newcomer's name was Pan Qiang, 32 years old, claiming to have served in the army's transportation unit for ten years and held positions there. As for why he left the army, he didn't elaborate.

He only made one request to Li Fanyu - if he could successfully apply for the job, he hoped to bring some people along. However, he repeatedly assured that these people were not freeloaders and were absolutely competent in this industry.

Li Fanyu had some concerns because this was a new company, and starting from scratch meant that if the first batch of employees were all acquaintances, it might be difficult to manage them in the future.

Seeing that Pan Qiang was not someone who beat around the bush, Li Fanyu directly expressed his concerns to him.

After pondering for a moment, Pan Qiang made a phone call directly, and soon, six men arrived outside the café.

The six men were all in their thirties, with the youngest looking about the same age as Li Fanyu. When they entered the café, they stood behind Pan Qiang like spears.

This puzzled Li Fanyu.

"Well, these are my brothers. You can test their abilities. I'm not bragging, but they're all very capable." Pan Qiang stared into Li Fanyu's eyes, speaking earnestly.

His words were firm, but Li Fanyu could see a request in his eyes.

"Can they repair cars?" Li Fanyu was a bit skeptical, as the six men standing there looked more like killers.

"Ha, squad leader, if we can't make it in auto repair, we'll go work as bodyguards. Why bother with those trifles?" The youngest man behind Pan Qiang sneered.

"Shut up." Pan Qiang calmly uttered two words from his mouth, and the young man immediately fell silent and stepped back.

These were definitely not ordinary veterans. Li Fanyu had seen soldiers return to civilian life before; even though they still respected their former superiors, they couldn't reach this level.

Li Fanyu looked at Pan Qiang with interest and said, "Shall we find a car to test them?"

Pan Qiang nodded, took out a few crumpled bills from his pocket, and got up to pay the bill.

Seeing this, Li Fanyu paid the bill first, then walked out of the café. Pan Qiang nodded to him without saying anything and led the others out.

Next to the café, a row of taxis was waiting for customers.

The young man named Zhu Zi walked straight to one of them, took out a box of crumpled cigarettes from his pocket, and handed one to the driver through the window.

"Master, can you start the engine so I can hear how your car sounds?"

The driver took a few puffs and smiled, "Oh, you want to hear it?"

Seeing Zhu Zi smiling without saying a word, the driver shook his head, started the car, and Zhu Zi leaned against the hood, listening for about ten seconds.

He said to the driver, "Master, does your car burn oil recently? There's too much carbon buildup. It needs cleaning."

The driver was surprised, "Wow, can you tell what's wrong just by the sound? Young man, you're something. I've had to add oil twice this month!"

Pillar saw his judgment confirmed and provocatively glanced back at Li Fanyu. The meaning was clear - hurry up and admire me!

Although Pan Qiang remained expressionless, he exchanged a meaningful look with Li Fanyu. Li Fanyu couldn't help but smile, walked to the taxi, leaned on the door, and said, "Master, cleaning the carbon buildup is one thing, but don't forget to change the valve oil seal. Yours is worn out. If you wait a few more days, your exhaust might turn blue. Also, your air filter is completely blocked. Can the air conditioning even work?"

Pillar, somewhat incredulous, glanced at Li Fanyu. You can tell the oil seal is no good from that far away? Can you see if the air filter is blocked without taking it apart?

He walked to the rear of the car, lay down, and stared at the exhaust pipe for a while. Then, he clapped his hands and stood up. Normal exhaust is white, and indeed, this car's exhaust had turned slightly blue, but if you didn't pay attention, you wouldn't notice.

Blue or black exhaust usually indicates serious wear on the three-way catalyst or valve oil seal. Based on this inference, Li Fanyu's statement was correct.

The driver turned on the air conditioning.

Puff! A cloud of dust.

Amidst the dust-filled car, the driver flashed a big smile, showing his white teeth. "Impressive! To save some oil, I haven't used the air conditioning in this car all summer. It's been blocked for a long time."

Pillar returned to stand behind Pan Qiang, his face red with embarrassment. Several companions laughed and playfully punched him a couple of times.

Pan Qiang thanked the taxi driver and reached out to Li Fanyu. "Sorry for the embarrassment," he said, then turned and left.

Li Fanyu quickly stopped him. "Don't leave! I didn't say I wouldn't hire you!"

Embarrassment? What embarrassment! Li Fanyu had spent so much time in the repair shop when he was young and had never seen a mechanic diagnose car problems just by listening!

What kind of people were they!?

Li Fanyu looked at Pan Qiang, who seemed a bit surprised, and said, "So, you guys will start working at the company tomorrow. There's not much business now, so I'll set your monthly salary at three thousand. When we have more business, I'll raise it based on performance. How's that?"

Pan Qiang finally smiled mechanically. "Sure!" He hesitated for a moment. "There are more than twenty of us in total. Can you use all of us?"

Li Fanyu was speechless. Are you treating my company as a daycare center? But then he thought, the X workshop was quite special, and it definitely needed reliable people to operate it. Pan Qiang and his team seemed suitable.

So he gritted his teeth. "Yes! But let's make it clear. If you work for me, you have to stay long-term. No instability!"

Pillar behind Pan Qiang burst into laughter. "You can rest assured! As long as the squad leader agrees, we'll work for you until you close down!"

Li Fanyu: &$^%#%$@^#@$#@^@^#$#@!
