ABT ### Chapter 0072: Modified Opus

The five identical Sequoia full-size SUVs were larger than typical off-road vehicles. As Jiyama and his entourage approached, the bodyguards in the passenger seats quickly got out, opening the car doors in unison, projecting the aura of national leaders.

Jiyama nodded slightly to the reporters' cameras before getting into the car, leaving Cheng Gang in an awkward position.

Selulu, on her tiptoes, raised her phone high and live-streamed the entire process, causing an uproar in the chat room.

"Damn, I heard that after the 912 incident in Tiancheng, the Japanese complained about the city's security and applied to bring their own convoy. Didn't expect they actually did!"

"Is this it? Looks pretty impressive, but it's a bit embarrassing for Tiancheng this time..."

"The Japanese successfully showed off, and I'm not happy about it!"

"Queen Lulu, go and humiliate them! Dampen their spirits!"

Selulu was also annoyed. Although the Japanese delegation hadn't done anything particularly rude, their arrogant demeanor was irritating.

"What's so impressive about it, you shorties," she muttered.

The media reporters present also felt uneasy. The Japanese had requested their own security convoy beforehand, and now they left the host, Mayor Cheng, standing there, which naturally stirred a sense of national indignation.

But what was even more frustrating was that there was nothing they could really criticize. Jiyama was a national finance minister, while Cheng Gang was merely a city mayor. You could say Jiyama was arrogant, but he had nodded and bowed. Yet, his subtle air of superiority was undeniably irritating.

Politicians don't act against their interests in public. Jiyama had his own stance for acting this way. Recently, China and Japan had been at odds over island disputes, causing quite a stir internationally. As a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, Jiyama naturally followed the opposition's lead. His current behavior during this visit to China represented his and the Liberal Democratic Party's stance: seeking economic cooperation while asserting Japan's strong stance on maintaining its rights.

So far, Jiyama had balanced this very well.

Amidst the discussions of reporters and onlookers on both sides of the road, the convoy with Japanese flags started up and slowly drove out of the airport.

In the last car, Jiyama looked at the sullen faces of Liu Ming and Cheng Gang and smiled with satisfaction. Setting aside political stances, he quite enjoyed the feeling of outclassing Chinese officials.

However, with the roar of engines, Jiyama noticed the sunlight in his car being blocked. Four steel behemoths with white bodies and blue Chinese police emblems approached, growling as they moved.

These four vehicles, fully painted in white, were intimidating despite their bright color. The wide, large tires left imprints on the ground, testifying to the terrifying weight of these over 2.8-meter-high giants. The special anti-collision steel beams installed at both the front and rear seemed like a shield made of steel.

The angular bodies were covered in dense bulletproof armor, making each vehicle look like a fully armed giant deity!

These four modified bulletproof Opus vehicles were the ones Li Fanyu had delivered to the municipal police department the day before!

After finishing the modifications, Li Fanyu had added some visually impactful exterior features inspired by military armored vehicles. When all the work was done, he was in love with his creation—it was simply too imposing!

However, nothing is perfect; the Opus had a diesel engine, and with nearly 500 kilograms of added weight, the system had to boost the power attribute by 30 points. This made the already noisy diesel engine even louder...

The four vehicles positioned themselves at both ends of Jiyama's convoy, turning on their roof lights to signal their intention to escort the convoy.

Under the imposing presence of these four vehicles, the Sequoias with Japanese flags suddenly seemed like children under the protection of giants, losing all their former grandeur.

Sailulu's live stream room shocked netizens.

"Oh my god! What kind of car is this? Is it from our city police station? So imposing!"

"I saw the convoy of those Japanese just now, and it shocked me for a moment. Now that I see our city's security guard car, I realize what real shock is!"

"The security guard car in Tiancheng City is so domineering? How come I've never seen it before?"

"Hahaha, this convoy of those Japanese bodyguards, they looked cool for less than three minutes before being outdone!"

"This is epic! Let's drop some donations. Queen Lulu, don't get me wrong, the donation is not for you, it's for the divine face-slapping of the security guard car!"

"The mayor responsible for reception must be doing this intentionally, so wicked, but I love it!"

At this moment, Sailulu was dumbfounded. These four cars were visually too shocking! Standing next to them, it felt like standing at the foot of a small mountain.

In the car, Jiuyama looked at the towering security guard cars that blocked the sunlight, stunned for a moment. He immediately gestured to his assistant in the passenger seat and whispered a few words.

The assistant nodded and bowed, then opened the car door and ran to Mayor Cheng: "Mayor Cheng, may I ask what this means?"

Mayor Cheng replied solemnly, "These are bulletproof security guard cars specially customized for the Asian Economic Forum by our city. They were just delivered yesterday. Because your side was concerned about our city's security capability, we specially arranged for security today. Is there any problem?"

"We don't need security. Please have them withdrawn!" Although the assistant used polite language, his tone was commanding.

Left hanging for over ten minutes during the reception, the arranged ceremonial car was ignored, Mayor Cheng was also quite annoyed. He couldn't show weakness to Jiuyama, but he couldn't afford to be submissive to Jiuyama's assistant.

After all, he represented China!

You criticize our public security, but then you take unilateral action to arrange a convoy, and now that security is arranged, you say you don't need it!

Such contradictions, do you take me for a fool?

"I'm sorry, for the safety of Minister Jiuyama, I'm afraid I can't comply. I have to go and arrange some matters for the banquet. Please excuse me." Mayor Cheng coldly delivered a sharp message to the assistant, then turned and boarded his car, leaving with the empty ceremonial car in the back.

The assistant stomped his foot angrily, muttered a curse under his breath, and then returned to the car.

Jiuyama listened to the assistant's account of the conversation just now, his face darkened. He looked at the tall and sturdy security guard cars on both sides, although he sat upright, his hands on his lap were tapping his knees rapidly with his fingers.

After a while, he ordered grimly, "Let's go."

So, a rather eerie scene unfolded on the main avenue of Tiancheng City.

Four tall and sturdy Chinese security guard cars exuded a sense of power, sandwiching a convoy that was dwarfed on both ends, slowly heading towards the city.

It was as if four burly men wearing T-shirts with the Chinese police emblem were hurrying five chicks with Japanese flags painted on their faces back to their nest...
