ABT Chapter 0134 Beauty and Strength Coexist

Sports cars are also divided into different tiers. For example, the term "supercar" isn't just thrown around randomly.

Besides maximum speed and horsepower, the most important parameter for evaluating a sports car's performance is its 0-100 km/h acceleration time. Currently, the International Automobile Association divides the acceleration level of cars into five tiers, and this level is calculated based on the 0-100 km/h acceleration time.

Cars with an acceleration time of over 15 seconds are called the "Leisure Camp." As the name suggests, these are cars for leisurely driving. They lack power and excitement; typical examples include small-displacement French cars and domestic economy cars.

Cars with an acceleration time between 9-15 seconds fall into the "Civilian Camp." These are generally compact or mid-size cars with engines below 1.5T or 1.6L.

Cars with an acceleration time between 7-9 seconds are categorized as the "Sports Camp." In the previous timeline, there were many cars in this category on the market, such as Volkswagen's Golf GT, Volkswagen CC, Buick GS, and Honda's Spirior DCT. These cars usually have good market response, achieved through special tuning or increased engine horsepower. They offer a basic level of driving excitement and better handling than civilian-grade cars.

But going up another level, it gets impressive.

Cars with an acceleration time between 4-7 seconds belong to the "High-Performance Camp." Many eye-catching and well-known coupes fall into this category. If you were to list them, each one would be famous in its own right. Of course, they generally come with a price tag that ordinary people can't afford.

Examples include the Audi S8, Porsche Cayenne, BMW M6, X5, X6, Mercedes-Benz A-Class AMG, Morgan Aero...

These cars can fulfill all a man's fantasies about cars: excitement, luxury, and even a high level of attractiveness to the ladies. Going to a nightclub in a car like this, even if you're just average-looking, as long as you roll down the window, puff on a cigarette, and nod at the girls, you're guaranteed not to leave empty-handed.

But of course, you have to make sure you don't have a supercar next to you.

Yes, if you can go from 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds, you're in the prestigious "Supercar" lineup.

Ferrari, McLaren, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Maserati... Just randomly driving one of these cars on the street will make people reluctant to approach you.

The reason? They can't keep up, and they can't afford to crash into you.

Remember the Ferrari Enzo in "Old Cannon"? Just the paint on one car door costs over a hundred grand.

Of course, you can't rule out the new driver who takes a McLaren for a modern Lorenz and crashes it...

Don't be fooled by the three-second difference between high-performance cars and supercars. That three seconds is enough to make many car manufacturers hesitate.

Speaking of the 0-100 km/h test, from a professional perspective, it requires installing testing equipment on the car.

But due to limitations, all Li Fanyu could do was use a crude method—placing speedometers every hundred meters on the track...

Li Fanyu sat in the car, revving the engine in neutral and pressing the gas pedal. The photographer, Wang Dazui, and the track staff were already gathered eagerly beside the track.

Li Fanyu was also nervous; he knew that if he wanted to get a car with an original acceleration time of 4.1 seconds to run under 4 seconds, it would be quite a challenge, both for the car and for himself.

The 0-100 km/h test requires shifting gears within the peak torque range each time, striving to maintain maximum power and accelerate the car. This is essentially a thorough burnout activity.

When he felt that the car was sufficiently warmed up, he nodded to the photographer beside him. Then, he aimed at the revs, swiftly shifted up a gear, and slammed the gas pedal to the floor.

At that moment, the X-Power emitted a sharp and piercing roar. The explosive power was instantly transmitted to the rear wheels through the gearbox, and the sudden surge of power firmly pressed Li Fanyu against the back of his seat. In a daze, he felt a sensation akin to taking off in an airplane...

As a screeching noise, reminiscent of metal wires, emanated from the rear wheels of the car, a cloud of white smoke billowed. The car's body slightly swayed a couple of times, and before everyone could react, it shot out like a bullet.

All they were left with was a magnificent view of the car's rear end and the long skid marks it left behind.

At that moment, Li Fanyu had all his attention focused, his eyes fixed ahead, and his hands and feet coordinating rapidly. To achieve the fastest acceleration, he had to shift gears the moment the engine reached 6000 rpm. Any delay would result in a loss of valuable power.

Second gear, third gear, fourth gear, fifth gear...

If there had been a high-speed camera by his side, one could clearly see that his gear shifts and timing were as precise as a robot's.

After a brief moment of surprise, Wang Dazui was so angry he almost slapped the photographer.

"Damn it, why didn't you bring a high-speed camera!"

The photographer brother pouted in frustration, looking at the disappearing car on the screen with great regret.

"Too fast, sir, couldn't keep up!"

Time flew by as the car sped past, and only when the speed exceeded 160 km/h did Li Fanyu gently tap the brakes and slowly pull over to the side of the track, turning the car around and heading back.

"How was it?" he asked the track staff beside him as he took off his helmet.

The guy's face was full of excitement. "Broke it! Broke it! 3.96 seconds! If the distance between the two speedometers wasn't so long, it could have been even faster!"

Li Fanyu nodded. "That's good enough."

Hmm, good enough to show off. Hehe, breaking the 4-second mark for the 0-100 km/h! That's supercar performance, bro!

Wang Dazui couldn't wait any longer. He ran over and grabbed Li Fanyu.

"Brother Li! Please, let me use a high-speed camera to record it again!"

In the world of journalism, who wouldn't want to get exclusive first-hand information? Exposing the performance of the first car and the first supercar to be born domestically would cause quite a stir!

Damn it, I only brought an ordinary high-definition camera!

There was no choice. The X-Power's style was too high. Previously, China couldn't even produce a fully autonomous car. Suddenly, this came out, like giving a weak athlete a shot of over twenty stimulants. Whether it was the professional Wang Dazui or the spectators on both sides of the track, they all kneeled in their hearts to Li Fanyu.

For a car with such a combination of beauty and strength, they had no reason not to look up to it!
