Chapter Six: Mundane Life, Yet Another Breakup

The rumors about Chen Wei had long been circulating around the school, and the other three roommates in the dormitory had managed to gather some information. Such rumors were typically more widespread among boys than girls, and they tended to be more accurate.

It's all about catching a girl's heart, daring to speak for the sake of face.

Several of them continued with their own plans.

At the internet cafe, they opened up a game and quickly selected their characters, entering the game mode.

"Focus on the road, focus on the road, click."

"Watch the swift wind, Hasta la vista."

"Little brat, mid lane belongs to daddy, ganking every day."

Laughter filled the internet cafe softly. Reborn into a new world, living a good life was actually the core of it all. As for the girls, it depended on how Zhang Fan intended to deal with them.

When it was getting late, they returned to the dormitory, paid a small tip to the doorman, and had the door opened for them.

"Zhang Fan, about that sports car? Where did it come from? Is it really yours?"

"Yeah, it's mine. Got it appraised, but it's nothing special, just a regular car."

"Seriously? Word has it that Zhang Fan is living a hidden life of luxury as a second-generation rich kid. That car is a Porsche 911 classic model. Although it's expensive among sports cars, it costs at least one and a half million, and the sound alone indicates it starts at two million. Absolutely, need I say more?"

Zhang Fan didn't know how to explain it. After some thought, he said, "Actually, I'm just pretending to be rich."

Hahaha, the other three roommates laughed and then went to rest.

There was a silly atmosphere in the dormitory. Everyone settled into their dreams. Zhang Fan, on the other hand, stared at the various names in his phone, lost in thought.

Still a hundred to go, getting rid of a hundred girlfriends was simply too annoying. Damn this unlucky system.

"System, does breaking up have any effect on the tasks?"

[Host, breaking up has no effect on the tasks.]

That's very wrong indeed.

After all, Zhou Ke was someone he still cared about.

At night, outside the school gates, Zhou Ke and Li stood together, having rented a room and intending to rest before their late-night dinner. They followed the template provided by Zhang Fan.

Once they knew they had broken up, they played along, let the guy approach them, acted scared, and then Zhou Ke slapped him before leaving.

Of course, Zhou Ke left with her glass.

"That Zhang Fan, I didn't expect everything to be true."

Inside the hotel room, after Li finished showering, she climbed into bed and happily hugged Zhou Ke, saying, "About Chen Wei's situation, I heard about it, and at first, I didn't believe it. But seeing his dodgy eyes later on, I guess it's probably true. Seems like Chen Wei's family has a bit of money. One girl was drugged, and then Chen Wei's family gave some money to the girl's side, and the girl dropped out of school."

"No worries, I have a relative in the police station. I'll hand over the evidence to them later and have it analyzed. I think this matter can't be covered up. Zhang Fan warned us, yet someone still dared to try drugging, got slapped, and probably got into trouble again."

Indeed, there was a girl who got drunk, not Zhou Ke or Li, but another girl who ended up leaving with Zhou Ke's help.

"Say, how did Zhang Fan know about this? It's really strange."

Li speculated while lying next to Zhou Ke.

Zhou Ke picked up her phone, looked at Zhang Fan's messages, hesitated, and then decided to send a friend request.

"Still believe that Zhang Fan likes you, that kind of liking, not just pretending."

She typed a few words, then hesitated again, and typed, "Is it because you didn't promise to be together?"

But she felt like this approach was too aggressive. Zhou Ke was torn for a while, then found Zhang Fan's phone number and called, only to hear the prompt that the other party couldn't be reached at the moment.

Obviously, she had been blocked.

So ruthless.

Should she try messaging him on Weibo?

Useless, there was no response at all.

Feeling annoyed, Zhou Ke sighed.

The next day, sunlight streamed in, and Zhou Ke opened her eyes, waking up from her dream. Today was Saturday, with plenty of time to relax. Li was still asleep at this time.

She habitually opened her phone, checked Zhang Fan's WeChat messages, and found nothing.

He still hadn't added her.

So many things had happened yesterday: the breakup, Zhang Fan's retort, and even the strange incident where he saved her. A series of events happened one after another, like a dream.

It takes fourteen days to form a habit, but within those fourteen days, the sudden disappearance of his daily morning greetings made it difficult to adapt to the sudden change.

She had something to do today, so Zhou Ke naturally had to get up late.

She got up, got dressed, hailed a taxi, and went to the police station. This matter would definitely come to an end. That's how Zhou Ke was; if she saw something, she would confront it directly.

Just as she rented a car, she heard the birds singing, and their voices were particularly melodious. It seemed like something happy was happening today.

"Zhang Fan? What are you doing here?"

Zhang Fan looked at Zhou Ke hesitantly and said, "Stalking me? Zhou Ke, I've made it clear, we've broken up. Please don't disturb my life, thank you."

"WeChat, QQ, even Weibo private messages, and calls, all blocked. Zhang Fan, are you really so heartless? I've said it many times, if there's anything, just ask."

"Why? Is it so difficult to believe that someone would keep their promise? You think I'll just ditch you?"

Believe, don't believe, it doesn't matter. Zhang Fan still walked into the police station on his own.

"Why are you here?"

"To report a case."
