FWS Chapter 003: Initial Results

Breaking through ten thousand characters per hour, and nearing eleven thousand, this was definitely a speed that Hou Muyun had never dared to imagine before. Previously, being able to finish one chapter in an hour was already something to be proud of. But now, he had finished more than three chapters in one hour!

After checking, what surprised Hou Muyun was that despite such a speed, there were very few typos, less than ten!

As for the plot and details, they once again astonished Hou Muyun.

"I'm seriously impressed with myself!" Hou Muyun stood up, shaking his hands to relax while chuckling to himself.

After this hour, Hou Muyun found that his fingers weren't as sore as he had imagined. Compared to when he used to type furiously to reach three thousand characters, it was even easier now. In other words, this speed was almost equivalent to normal typing speed, maybe with a bit of an extended effort, but definitely not much.

*Rumble!* At this moment, his stomach grumbled. Hou Muyun glanced at the time and couldn't help but smile bitterly—it was already past 3 a.m.

Before the incident at home, Hou Muyun had almost gotten rid of his habit of staying up late and could usually fall asleep by midnight. But during this period, he had started staying up late again, often staying up until dawn before sleeping and waking up before noon to continue typing. On average, he spent about fifteen hours in front of the computer every day.

After nibbling on a pack of cookies, Hou Muyun decided to type for another two hours, then go to the breakfast shop in the neighborhood for breakfast at five before going to sleep.

Over the next two hours, Hou Muyun didn't use the "Typing Effect Card" again, but his typing speed still easily reached over 4500+. Within these two hours, he typed three more chapters.

Logging into the author's backstage, he uploaded all seven chapters written after the system appeared in one go. Combined with the five chapters written earlier, he uploaded a total of twelve chapters within twenty-four hours, updating over 36,000 words. This was the most updates Hou Muyun had made in a single day in the over three years he had been writing! Even during previous bursts of creativity, he had never uploaded more than ten chapters in one day.

...

Waking up, it was already past 11 a.m. During this sleep, Hou Muyun had many dreams. He dreamed that he had received a manuscript fee of 100,000, and he also dreamed that he had drawn a card that could transform and turned into a tree, then a bridge, and then an eagle, flying and flying until he got tired and changed into another dream. In another dream, he was discovered to have a lottery wheel in his mind and was chased by a mysterious organization. As he fled, he accidentally stumbled, and when he got up, he found himself standing in front of a golden palace, from which came a group of women, each with a slender waist and long legs, looking at him with flirtatious eyes and calling him "Master."

After taking a shower and getting ready, Hou Muyun habitually turned on his computer, boiled a kettle of water, ordered takeout, and then sat in front of the computer with the boiling water, blowing and drinking as he opened the discussion section of the novel through the rising steam.

Hou Muyun usually scanned the novel discussion section two or three times a day, but there wasn't much interaction. Occasionally, he would highlight comments discussing the plot in the comment section. As for criticisms, negative comments, or even insults, as long as they didn't involve his family, he wouldn't delete them. As for opinions and suggestions, if he agreed, he would take them; if he found them unreasonable, he would ignore them. After more than three years, he had long been accustomed to various opinions. He was well aware that although the novel was written for readers, it was still his creation, and he wouldn't change his creative direction or style based on every comment from readers.

The sustained outbreak last month had clearly been effective. Previously, the discussion area had been quite empty, with only a few posts per day. But these days, there were quite a few posts every day. And today...Hou Muyun checked and found quite a few indeed.

"Hou Ye, have you gone crazy recently? Damn, you updated twelve chapters yesterday! I was already shocked when you updated four chapters every day last month. Are you going to continue to be a madman this month?" - Gorilla with a Light.

"Wasn't it on a hiatus before? I thought it was going to be castrated! Damn, when I refreshed yesterday, there were over 130 new chapters. It scared me!" - Seeing Three Isn't Seeing.

"What a garbage book. Got poisoned to death after seeing fifteen chapters. Dropped!" - Bookfriend WSYGDSB.

"As a lurker for thousands of years, I can't help but pop out and say, the author's updates have been amazing lately, and the plot is also very exciting. Especially the last few chapters, they gave me the chills. I never expected that the Xuan Yuan Sword would hide such secrets! Can't help but go back and read the chapters where Xuan Yuan Sword first appeared. I have to bow down to the author's foreshadowing!" - Little Conch Picking Up Girls.

"Regarding the fight in Changhua Hall, it's simply too exciting, full of deja vu, and written so well! Especially the moment when Xuan Yuan Sword was unsheathed, it's been two hours, but that scene is still vivid in my mind, I can't get rid of it. Couldn't resist coming here to show some support!" - Licking the Octopus.

"I had already given up on this book, but a few days ago, someone in the group said that the updates during this period were very impressive, so I picked it up again due to my book drought. After taking a look, the updates are indeed impressive, and the quality hasn't dropped much. But this morning, after finishing reading the seven chapters updated in the early morning, I was completely intoxicated. If it weren't for chasing after Monkey's books for two years and knowing this guy's style, I would definitely suspect that the author had changed. These chapters are so lively! I've decided to keep following it! Here are my recommendation votes and monthly tickets, and a small reward!" - Suave Little Handsome Guy.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god... The appearance of this Lone Sword Master is too domineering! This is the demeanor of a true powerhouse, this is the way a true powerhouse speaks, this is the vision of a true powerhouse, the author wrote it so well!"

"Great updates, exciting plot, rewarding!"

"Oh my goodness, Monkey Boss, do you really want to play with our heartstrings like this? I almost gave up on this book because of the previous chapters! Fortunately, I persevered!"

"No need to say more, this book is experiencing a renaissance, I'll follow it to the end!"

"So enjoyable! Author, if you can still explode with ten more updates today, I'll definitely become a fan!" - Whooshing Fist.

"I'm in too! Just floating around for a bit!" - Money Worshipper.

...

Among the stream of comments, there were occasionally a few negative ones, but most of them were praises, especially the ones towards the end. When Hou Muyun saw "floating around," his eyes immediately lit up, and then he scrolled up to the donation section.

The term "floating around" referred to donations that made the comment stand out in red. When a reader donated 50,000 or 100,000 starting coins at once, their comment would appear in red. But usually, "floating around" referred to donating 50,000 starting coins, which equated to 500 yuan.

"27 donations today!"

Hou Muyun was somewhat excited. Naturally, he had received quite a few donations in his three years of writing, and thinking about it, it seemed that the most donations he had received in a single day was just over ten. And for this book, the most was eight people, which happened during the crazy outbreak last month. These 27 donations undoubtedly broke his record for single-day donations once again.

In the "Fan Ranking" section, Hou Muyun noticed that the top fan had changed to "Money Worshipper," with a fan value of 52,182 (Guild Leader). Additionally, there were three new names in the top ten rankings, with fan values all over 20,000 (Hall Master), ranking from third to fifth place. The second place was still held by the old fan "Suave Little Handsome Guy," with a fan value of over 30,000.

In other words, apart from one donation that stood out in red, two other people had donated 20,000.

Quickly checking the details of the donations in the backstage, Hou Muyun found that three more people had donated 10,000. So altogether, there were over 100,000 in donations today!

In other words, Hou Muyun had earned over 500 yuan from donations alone!

As for subscriptions, it was significantly less compared to donations. Because the seven chapters at the back were released around 5 a.m., the daily subscription settlement was at 2:30 a.m. As a result, the "new subscriptions yesterday" wasn't much, similar to last month's situation, even with five updates a day, there were only a little over 4,000. As for the "24-hour subscriptions for the latest chapters," it was just over 400, with all chapters having just over 1,000 subscribers.

This book, "The Sword Master of Xuan Yuan," was undoubtedly the worst-performing book Hou Muyun had written. Yet last month, he managed to earn over 7,000 in manuscript fees, partly because of his old books.

"This is a wonderful start!"

Unable to contain his excitement, Hou Muyun posted a single chapter: "I've seen the comments, I've seen the donations, thank you all! Nothing else, at least ten more updates today!"

Taking a deep breath, to prevent himself from feeling the urge to refresh donations, subscriptions, and monthly tickets, Hou Muyun directly disconnected from the internet. He then put in the "Inspiration Effect Card," spent ten minutes outlining, and then switched to the "Speed Effect Card" to transform into a typing monster once again and began typing!
